Die Waldbröler "Friedensmauer" - im Volksmund ursprünglich "Hitlermauer" - ist ein Überbleibsel einer Ende der 30er-Jahre begonnenen NS-Eliteschule. Der "Nie wieder Krieg"-Schriftzug erschien anonym in den 80er-Jahren im Zusammenhang mit der Friedensbewegung und wird nunmehr seit vielen Jahren schon von der Waldbröler Gesamtschule als Mahnmal für den Frieden in Stand gehalten. Seit knapp drei Wochen wissen wir, dass der Angriffskrieg in Europa wieder Realität ist. Die eindringliche Mahnung "Nie wieder Krieg!" an Politik und Gesellschaft bleibt unvermindert aktuell.
